Are Private Schools Morally Permissible?

I believe that the existence of private schools does violate equality of opportunity, at least in one of its forms. However, I do not believe that the corollary of this should be their proscription. As this essay will attempt to show, I believe that private schools are not just morally permissible but moral requisites.
